Before Summer started, I made it my mission to have an amazing Summer this year. I’ve never really had a “Summer vacation” spent having fun with friends; as I’ve always been either taking Summer classes, visiting family, or obligated to other responsibilities. Now I can finally say that I’ve successfully had a fun, adventure-packed Summer! Here are some of the major things that I checked off my Summer bucket list from Memorial Day to Labor Day this year:
A few weekends ago, some friends and I went up north to Paige to visit a few spots that have been on my bucket list for ever! Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon are beautiful natural wonders of the world on Navajo Indian Reservation in Northern Arizona. I was born and raised in Arizona, but I’ve never made it to these places, and made it my mission this Summer to explore my own backyard. This was one of the spots that I made a point to check off my list, and I’m so glad that I did! (more…)
Last week was a really long week, so I decided that I deserved to indulge a little. On Saturday night instead of going out, I decided to master the cookie skillet/pizookie. Where I grew up (on the rough streets of North Scottsdale), we would go to Zipps every weekend in high school (a local sports bar) to get dinner and a cookie skillet. They have the gooey-est, yummiest pizookies around!!! My competitive, perfectionist nature decided to make a better one. (more…)
Ever heard of these teatox cleanses? There are so many fad health trends that come in and out of the market so quickly, that we never know which to invest in. I had the opportunity to try the 14-day Skinny Teatox tea cleanse and here are my thoughts about it! (more…)
I usually have a green protein drink every day as either a meal replacement or a post-workout snack. It’s a great energizer and the easiest way to get all my greens in for the day. I prefer smoothies over juices because with smoothies for two reasons: (more…)
Coconut oil has been the latest and greatest trend for a while now – celebrities use it and people swear by it. Over the past 8 or so months I’ve been researching and incorporating coconut oil into almost every part of my daily life and I’ve seen huge changes both internally and externally. (more…)
So if you were wondering where I’ve been the past week, I’ve been playing on the beach in Mexico! A few friends and I spent five days at my friend’s beach house in Puerto Peñasco and had the time of our lives.
Happy Valentine’s Day!!! Today is a happy day for some, and sad for others. I’ve personally never been a big fan of the holiday, but now that I’m single for the first time in forever I’ve found some real meaning in it. Throughout the first two weeks of February, we see funny memes and make jokes about being single during Valentine’s Day and even though I have a huge sense of humor, I’m not sure if I find these jokes very funny for the reasons below:
There is probably one word that can describe my 2014 and that would be “shitshow.” This year has challenged me and forced me to grow in so many ways. 2014 brought heartache, happiness, success, failure, knowledge, inspiration, travel, and most importantly: wisdom. It ended relationships, rekindled others, and started new ones. It made me experience things that I never thought I would.
So…you’re on Pinterest and you are absolutely obsessed with what someone is wearing that you want to buy it that very second. You click on the photo thinking that it’ll give you some insight as to where you can buy the item, and it leads you to a random landing page with no leads. Isn’t that the worst?!?! Well I recently found a website/app that completely solves this problem…and is making my shopping life a whole lot easier.
