New Year = Old Habits

Ever since my injury last year, I’ve struggled to find a balance in life with the right exercise for me because I can no longer do high intensity activities that I love like sprinting and plyometric workouts. This year, I’ve focused on nailing that down by combining a mix of barre, yoga, and my new favorite HIIT cardio workout in Scottsdale, Simply Cardio. Alongside all my favorite outdoor activities – hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, etc.

But to be honest – between traveling, moving in with my boyfriend, rehabbing my leg, and just…life – I’ve really let my healthy eating slip!

There’s something to be said for eating clean…it really does give you so much energy and zest for life, and I want that back! I used to eat super strict and extremely clean. I don’t necessarily strive for that back in particular…I’m now so much busier and maintain a totally different lifestyle than before. But I do think that there is a good balance between the two.

This year for my New Year’s Resolution, I am striving to eat more vegetables! 2 whole vegetables a day, to be exact. This may seem minuscule, but I know it will make a big difference in my diet and energy. We have a farmer’s market down the street from us that’s open on Saturday mornings, so I went this past weekend and filled up my new Mona B bag with everything that I could find! We usually grocery shop for the week on Sundays anyway, so I’m going to make the farmer’s market my new weekend ritual.

Happy New Year y’all!

That jute bag makes a good shopping bag for fresh produce.
