Throwback Thursday: My Favorite Looks for My Blogiversary

October is my blogiversary!! I started my blog in 2010, and I’ve done a loootttt of outfits over the years. Some that I were super proud of, and some…uhhhhh…not so much. As I look back, it’s clear that 2014 was my biggest year on my blog…from the growth of my following to the development of my personal style. So in tribute to my best blog year, I decided to put together some of my favorite looks from 2014! (Stay tuned with my fave 2015 looks). Here are 14 of my favorite looks from 2014 (from oldest to newest):

Baby Got a Ball Cap On

dainty gold jewelry

Most people’s favorite season is the holiday season but if you know me, you know that my absolute favorite time of year is baseball season….and in Arizona we get it a month early!! One of the best things about living in Arizona (besides the fact that we wear sandals in Winter) is Spring Training. The weather is perfect and I can get a group of friends together to sit on the lawn in the sunshine and watch a good game of baseball while enjoying a few beers. (more…)

Perfectly Plaid

fall fashion womens inspiration outfits plaid

Happy hump day!! My favorite pattern this fall is plaid, and I’m incorporating it everywhere! I kept it grungy for this look and added a little edge with the waxed James Jeans skinnies from Crocus.

Damsel Distressed

denim destroyed boyfriend light wash

Last week was the first week in Arizona that was consistently under 100 degrees, so naturally I decide to wear a jacket. Everything about this look is totally classic and feminine, and then just a little undone with the destroyed boyfriend jeans (we can’t all be completely put together, ok?) I wanted to mix all timeless pieces together with one unexpected element. (more…)

Lipstick Junkie

casual spring outfits
It’s so difficult to stay chic and casual at the same time! My rule is to just add a bright lip and a couple fun accessories. You will feel fabulous, and it will distract everyone away from your casual look. I’m wearing a simple outfit with flats (gasp!), but dressed it up a little with my fun Wantable bracelet and a bright “r-orange” lip from Motives. Trust me…a bright lip and a few fun accessories take a boring, casual look from drab to fab!stay chic,

Baseball Cap

spring fashion blogger
In honor of Spring training, (and baseball season about to start!) I’m making this baseball hat look chic. Here, I’m incorporating a few Spring trends…the jean jacket, track pants, mirrored sunnies, and jock look with the hat. My outfit has so much going on, so I kept all the colors and patterns neutral to make it not look too busy. I’m wearing all super casual and relaxed pieces so I made it look more chic, refined and sophisticated with the metallic pump. The pumps kicked the outfit up a notch (no pun intended), and made the outfit look deliberate. My rule of thumb for track pants: you have to wear a sophisticated piece with them to avoid the outfit looking sloppy!Steal My Style:
Hat: H&M. Similar here for $18
Jean Jacket: Tommy Hilfiger $80
T-Shirt: Leith $36
Track Pants: Wayf $58
Heels: Stuart Weitzman $240
Glasses: Ray Ban $150

It’s all in the Details

casual fashion
This whole look is from my new favorite boutique, Hot Petunias! I am SO ready for Spring (as is everyone in the midwest right now), so I am channeling Springtime through my wardrobe. Warm, comfy, casual colors and fabrics are big for Spring, as are strappy casual heels. I layered necklaces, because my outfits would not be true to myself without some gold!

Steal My Style:

Sweater: Hot Petunias
Jacket: Hot Petunias
Jeans: Hot Petunias
Shoes: LC by Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s (not available online, but here are some similar from Nine West $118)
Tassel Necklace: Target $8

Laid-Back in Converse

casual spring fashion look outfit
Converse aren’t just for kids and hipsters! I love wearing converse with everything to make it look more casual and relaxed; especially dressy looks! Wear them with skinnies, leggings, dresses, shorts, skirts…literally anything. Make them edgy, girly, grungy, whatever! They make an outfit fun-loving and laid-back. They can also make your refined outfit look a little ‘undone’, which gives a really cool vibe.Steal My Style:
Jacket: Nordstrom (unavailable)
Chambray: Target $23
T-Shirt: Leith $36 (a staple!!)
Jeans: Target $9
Shoes: Converse $44

Street Smart: Cheap and Chic

casual grungy fashion outfit
Here is more from my Target project! This whole outfit (minus the shoes and accessories) was just $45. Isn’t that insane?! I love Target!I love dressing up casual outfits with heels because they make the outfit look like you actually thought about it; when in reality I just threw on a t-shirt, cargo’s and a chambray with a beanie and some bling. Layering also does the same trick…this chambray pulled the look together and without it, the outfit would have just been super plain and simple. Moral of the story: adding layers and heels make the outfit look like it was planned out! Super easy, super cheap, and super fab!

Steal My Style:
T-shirt: Target $13
Chambray: Target $23
Cargo Skinnies: Target $9
Heels: Steve Madden $79
Beanie: Old Navy (unavailable)
