Gladiator

gladiator heels spring fashion
Gladiator is one of the biggest trends for Spring, and if you haven’t jumped on board with it…get on board with it now! If you’re scared of the knee-high’s, start with something more subtle like these. The key to gladiator is pairing it with something super simple. This is just a really simple and edgy shorts-and-blouse combo, but my favorite way to wear gladiator is with a printed shift dress. Very feminine, but offset by the gladiator heels. You can also give them a boho/hippie look…pair some flat gladiator sandals with cutoff jean shorts and a cute printed boho blouse, or a printed maxi skirt or dress with a wool floppy hat.

Graphic Sweatshirt

fashion blog outfits
This Zara sweatshirt is super comfy and chic! Shades of blue are the thing this Spring, and I’ve incorporated two of these shades in this outfit! I’m all about monochromatic, and mixing this navy skirt with this baby blue sweatshirt says ‘chic and refined’. I’m also into waxed denim, because it is edgy and mixes up a plain old denim wash. It’s dressier and more fashion-forward. Sweatshirts are all the rage this season, and I wear mine with skirts, track pants, and shorts!Steal My Style: (and get cash back!)
Sweatshirt: Zara, but this one from Target is 3295729375 times better and only $30!
Skirt: Forever 21 $16
Shoes: Enzo Angiolini (they’re old!) here is a similar one for $45 from boohoo

Giving Baby Blue an Edge

spring fashion skirt blogger
So, two things: 1) people think that you shouldn’t give a Spring look an edge, and 2) people think that you can’t wear leather in the Springtime. All I have to say to these assumptions is: FALSE! Because looksie what I did! I’m wearing a Spring outfit, I gave it an edge, and I’m wearing leather! This getup is all from Zara (I’m on a crazy Zara kick now that Scottsdale has a two-floor, 20,000 square foot Zara store…very dangerous). This top is a-maz-ing by the way…It’s a matte leather crop top! Zara has the most unique and trendy stuff and their prices are usually pretty reasonable. Anyways, I wanted to keep my look simple and clean, so I stuck with all solids and a super simple shoe.Steal My Style:
Jacket: Zara (not available online, but here is an inexpensive alternative!)
Top: Zara (not available online, but I found one similar here)
Skirt: Zara (not available online, but here is one extremely similar!)

More Issues Than Vogue

edgy spring outfit
The black and white combo is all the rage for Spring this year! We all know that I have a love for mixing edgy/grungy with feminine/ladylike…so here it is again! I have the edgy leather shorts and graphic tee with the feminine vest, bag, and pumps. Spring is all about transitioning from Winter to Summer, so you have to incorporate elements from both seasons into your look. My winter element is the leather shorts, and most everything else is Summer-y. I’m so ready for Spring…bring it on!Steal My Style:

Colorful Snakeskin

edgy outfit inspiration
Here is my first of many looks from my Nordstrom Savvy project! Savvy has recently been re-vamped, and they have some amazing super trendy pieces that are very reasonable in price! The new Savvy is offering Nordstrom quality for H&M prices; which is a little cray. Nothing is over $100, and they carry great new lines of on-trend denim including Edyson and BLANKNYC, which are around the $78 price point (crazy, right?) Some more of my favorite New Savvy brands include: Topshop, Wayf, ASTR, and MINKPINK. They all offer really unique pieces that I drool over! This outfit is inspired by pre-Spring, because I am just too excited for what’s to come in the new season! Since the bottom half of this look is very dark, I paired this amazing bright leather jacket with the snakeskin sweatshirt to brighten up this grungy outfit. I added some edge to the grunge look by topping it off with some pointed-toe booties and an orange-red lip.

Steal My Style:
Jacket: BLANKNYC $98
Sweatshirt: WAYF $48
Jeans: Target $23
Shoes: Rock & Republic for Kohl’s $60

Grunge

grungy fashion outfit
Grungy doesn’t always have to look messy and hipster! I dressed this grungy look up to look more feminine and put-together. By pairing my grungy pieces with a skirt, heels, and some arm candy, I’m not so dressed down, yet still giving off the ’90’s grunge’ vibe.Steal My Style:
Top: Target $23
Skirt: (I’m selling here)
Sweater: Nordstrom $20
Heels: Kohl’s $39 (a-ma-zing)

Bringing the Turtleneck Back

Welp, here is my classic black and gold again! I’ve been noticing that more fashion houses have been featuring the turtleneck more often, so I decided to accept that the turtleneck is back and incorporated it into this look. I paired it with this tight high-waisted midi pencil skirt to balance out the shortness and chunkiness of the turtleneck, and added the belt to give myself a waist. One thing about midi skirts-people think that they are unflattering on people because they go below the knee but not to the ankle…the truth is actually quite opposite, and if you pair it right can be one of the most flattering things you can wear. Back to the turtleneck…wear them with pencil skirts, A-line mini skirts, or skinny jeans/pants.

Things not to wear with your new turtleneck:

  • A boot-cut mom jean (let’s keep it as far removed from the 90’s as possible)
  • Shorts
  • Capris (we’re not supposed to be wearing these anyway-I wanted to list these just to confirm)
  • Trouser jeans/pants
  • Any type of skirt that is longer than a miniskirt, but not skin tight (i.e. knee-length A-line, maxi, etc.)

Anything else is a ‘go’!
