Last-Minute Holiday Party Look

It has been a busy holiday season, and we’ve all forgotten about ourselves in the midst of running around town finding gifts for other people. Shopping for the perfect party look is daunting to all of us, as no store has the exact dress that we envision in our heads.

Well this year, create your own ‘perfect party look’. Get out that old LBD and spice it up! Go find some exciting tights and a glittery skinny belt (Target has the best selection of all this stuff), and throw on your plain ol’ black pumps. Add some jewelry and a clutch, and you’ve just glammed up an old dress! No one there will know that you wore it to your company holiday party, a special date, or last year’s NYE.

This is my first time trying knee-high stockings! I wanted to make it really feminine instead of preppy, which is what everyone usually does with knee-highs (how many times have we seen them with a miniskirt or shorts??) I kept it simple and girly with this black coat, and added the pop of red for my statement.

So, black and gold is pretty much the classiest way to look expensive. Not to mention it will always be in style. So, next time you are in the mood to look chic and can’t put anything together…go for all black and accessorize with  gold!

Well here is more from my Target project! Everything except the heels are from Target (and aren’t the heels to die for?!) I am in love with these acid washed ripped jeans because you can wear them with anything to make it look ‘effortless chic’. I like pairing grey with a warm color like this mustard, because grey is a neutral but not as harsh as black. The color combo also adds a hint of sophistication and makes it look like the outfit was put well thought-out. Moral of the story: add a grey jacket to your closet!

Here is another head-to-toe Target look! I absolutely love black and white together because it is so crisp and you can do a lot with it-color and patterns wise. I am super into mixing patterns right now, and I like to mix stripes with about almost everything-from polka dots, to plaid, to paisley. To pull the whole look together since there was so much pattern going on in this outfit,  I added the felt fedora as a simple staple.

Here is an outfit that I put together from mainly Target clothes! The collared top, embellished sweatshirt, and clutch are all from Target. I love the boyfriend sweatshirt look and I’ve seen it with track pants and other super trendy items, but I wanted to show it with something a little more girly and reasonable that people would actually wear without feeling overdone. But…it wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t edge it up just a little so I had to do the leather mini skirt to play down the conservative femininity of the top. Just another way of showing you how you can keep up with the trends without breaking the bank!Sweatshirt: Target

Winter Vibes

Here is more from my collaboration with JunkyTrunk! I am obsessed with this fur-lined poncho, and decided to edge it up a little with my leather leggings and suede booties. I’m really big on floppy hats this winter, and am pairing them with everything! I am also planning on wearing this poncho with skinny jeans and boots for a more casual look, and over an evening dress with heels for an upcoming holiday party.

Three Glam Holiday Party Ideas

Switch It Up For Valentine’s Day

So one thing I noticed about Valentine’s Day is that we really limit what we wear to celebrate the special night. We have it stuck in our minds that we should be wearing a dress and heels, but why not switch it up? A skirt and blazer, shorts and tights…the possibilities are not limited to a dress. So stop being predictable and surprise your date for Valentine’s Day!
